Has anyone looked into whether there were any significant events or conventions in Daytona Beach around the time Marinthia was there in September and early October 1989? It's a long shot, but she might have crossed paths with someone from out of town attending an event. Sometimes these big gatherings can attract all sorts of people, and it’s possible she met someone who wasn’t a local and whose connection to this case might have been missed. Has this angle been checked out? Considering the lack of information after she reportedly returned to Jacksonville, it's possible that something more significant happened back in Daytona Beach that we haven't pieced together yet.
