I've been reading up on the tragic case of Alice Hochhausler, and something that's been on my mind is the role community fear might have played in how the investigation unfolded. Back in the '60s, news of a potential serial killer like the Cincinnati Strangler must have put immense pressure on local law enforcement to quickly solve these cases and restore a sense of safety. I wonder if this pressure possibly led to missteps in collecting evidence or focusing solely on Laskey as a suspect. It feels like understanding the broader social climate of Cincinnati during that time is crucial to gauging how the case was approached and perhaps why it's remained unsolved for so long. My heart really goes out to Alice’s family. Decades later, they deserve answers or, at the very least, the closure of knowing everything possible was done to find justice for Alice. Anyone have thoughts on how larger societal factors might have impacted or even hindered this investigation?
