It's hard to fathom how the Dumler case has remained unsolved for so many years. I can't help but wonder about the forensic investigation back then—given the brutality involved, were any fingerprints or other physical evidence collected at the scene? It's frustrating to think that something might have been missed or not analyzed with today's standards in mind. It’s been over 50 years, and I hope advancements in technology could still help crack this case. My heart goes out to the extended family and those two kids who must have grown up without answers. Does anyone know if the cold case team has considered reopening the investigation with modern forensic techniques?
I've been thinking about the Dumler case a lot lately, particularly the devastating impact on their children. It's hard to imagine the trauma they must have experienced, losing both parents and a grandmother in such a violent manner. Being spared when their family wasn't must have left them with an immense burden. I wonder how they have coped over the years and if they found any kind of peace or closure. It must also be incredibly difficult for the relatives who stepped in to raise the Dumler children afterward. The strength needed to support and nurture those kids amidst such tragedy is immense. I hope wherever they are now, they have the support they need and deserve. This case remains such a dark chapter in Cincinnati's history. I'm holding onto hope that one day there'll be answers and justice for this family.
Joining this discussion because I've been researching the Dumler case for a class, and there's something that's been on my mind. I can’t stop thinking about how terrifying and intense the situation must have been for the Dumler family that night. From what I understand, the victims were all found in an upstairs bedroom after being moved there forcibly. This suggests a level of planning or at least a chilling amount of control by the assailant. I wonder if this detail could point to someone they knew or maybe an intruder who had some kind of leverage over them. My heart goes out to the children who lost their parents and grandmother so violently and who must have grown up in the shadow of this unsolved case. It's unsettling to think that whoever did this might never be held accountable. My thoughts are with the family and the community that still feels the weight of this tragedy.
