Hey everyone, I came across the sad case of Chief Robert Hamrick and have been thinking about his family and community. One angle that's been bothering me is how his car's lights and engine were found turned off. It doesn't sit right with me that after chasing a speeding vehicle, he would've stopped and turned everything off, especially on a dark, icy road. Could this suggest he might have known the person who attacked him or perhaps been coerced into stopping?
Another thought is where this unknown vehicle disappeared to. Surely in a small town, someone must have heard or seen something that night. It makes me wonder about the impact fear or loyalty might have had on witnesses if they did notice anything. If anyone in Rock Creek back then is reading, even the smallest detail might help revisit this case and finally provide answers for his loved ones. It's been over 50 years, and hopefully, the truth can bring some peace.
