I've always been fascinated by how certain areas can be hotspots for mysterious disappearances. Having grown up around Chattanooga, the Tennessee River and the Chickamauga Dam are places I'm quite familiar with. It's eerie to think about Eugene McCommon, who simply vanished from such a familiar and busy location. I've been boating around those locks before, and it's hard to imagine how someone could just disappear without a trace like that. I wonder if the currents are stronger than they seem or if there might be other factors at play in that area that could contribute to such incidents. Does anyone else think there's something unusual about the frequency or nature of these disappearances?

I’ve been digging into Eugene McCommon's case and noticed something odd about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. It strikes me as strange that he fell out of his boat in such a specific location - the locks of the Tennessee River near the Chickamauga Dam. There are typically a lot of safety precautions in place around those locks. I wonder if there were any mechanical issues with the boat that could have contributed to the incident. Has anyone come across details about the state of his boat that day or if an investigation was conducted into possible equipment failure? It might be a long shot, but mechanical issues could've played a role in this tragic incident. Would love to hear if anyone else has info on this aspect.

I was doing some digging into Eugene McCommon's case and stumbled upon something interesting. Has anyone looked into the water level and conditions on the Tennessee River around the time he disappeared in December 1991? I remember there was some unusual weather around that time, but can't find much on how it might have affected the river currents. Given how witnesses mentioned he went under without resurfacing, maybe the conditions were more treacherous than usual? Would love to hear if anyone has more info or thoughts on this.
