Does anyone else find it odd that Floyd's truck was found so close to Highway 95? I've been looking at maps of the area and considering how remote it is. It makes me wonder why he might have driven there in the first place. The fact that his hat and jacket were left inside seems significant. Could it suggest he intended to return to the truck after going somewhere on foot? Maybe he wanted to stay close to the road in case he needed help, but then something unexpected happened. It's baffling how there wasn't more follow-up in such a location. With such an open landscape, you'd think there would have been more eyewitness reports or trail markings. If anyone's familiar with that area, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what might have attracted him there or what the terrain and conditions were like back then.
It's really odd how Newman's truck was just left in that wash. I can't stop thinking about how his favorite hat and jacket were still inside—it feels so personal, like he planned to come back for them. It's been over 30 years, and you'd think something more would have turned up by now. Does anyone know if there were any searches in that area beyond the initial discovery? It seems like such a remote spot, but maybe someone local noticed something back then and just didn't think anything of it. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone remembers something soon.
Has anyone looked into the environmental factors around the area where Floyd Newman's truck was found? I was reading through some old case files and saw that his truck was abandoned in a wash. It makes me wonder if there could be any significance to that. Washes can get dangerous, especially if there's unexpected rainfall causing flash floods. Could there have been a weather event around that time in March 1992 that might have contributed to his disappearance—or at least disoriented him? I’m curious if local weather records from back then could offer some insights or if they’ve already been checked by the investigators. Given that all his things were left behind, it almost feels like he had planned to return to the truck. Thoughts?
