I've been following Austin Thomas's case for a while now, and it's so tough to wrap my head around how such a tragedy could remain unsolved for decades. I was recently reading about some similar cases from the early '70s, and it seems like there were quite a few obstacles back then with less technology and fewer resources at the disposal of investigators. But it makes me wonder if there were any common threads or patterns between these cases—were any specific circumstances or locations somehow linked? It's always said that time can bring new perspective, and maybe someone out there knows even the smallest detail that could connect the dots.
I hope someday Austin's loved ones find the answers they're seeking and the peace they deserve. If you're from Dayton or have been researching local history, what do you think could still be done now to help bring justice? Every voice counts, and perhaps crowdsourcing the wisdom of many might bring a breakthrough.
Hey everyone,
I recently came across Austin Thomas's case from December 25, 1973, and it’s really been on my mind. It's so sad for his friends and family to have gone this long without answers. I can't even imagine how painful it must be each year the case remains unsolved.
I wonder how much forensic techniques have advanced since the 70s and how they might help. While I'm not an expert, it's curious to think about what DNA technology could do if they still have any evidence from the scene. It makes me hopeful for all the cold cases out there that one day, breakthroughs in science might bring some long-awaited justice.
If anyone has thoughts or ideas on how people could help with cases like this one, I'd love to hear them. Maybe there's a way we could be proactive in supporting these efforts. Austin, like every victim, deserves to have his story told and solved.
