Has anyone looked into the possibility that Carlos Gonzalez might have been trying to avoid some kind of perceived threat or felt unsafe? Given his PTSD, it seems plausible he could have been paranoid or had an episode that made him leave abruptly. The fact that his military tattoo is such a distinct feature might mean he was more easily recognizable, which could've prompted him to stay off the grid if he felt he was in danger. It might also be worth digging into whether he had any disagreements or falling outs with people he interacted with around that time. It’s also curious to me if any local shelters or veterans’ aid groups were checked during the initial search. They might have relevant info, but I haven’t seen this angle mentioned much. Thoughts?
