I've been following D'wan Sims' case for a while, and something that's always puzzled me is the role of the mall surveillance footage. Given the technological limitations of the 90s, I wonder if it's possible sections of the footage were mistakenly overlooked or improperly reviewed. Could it be that D'wan was there, but due to low-quality video or camera angles, he just wasn't visible? Also, I've read that in some cases, footage is recorded over if not preserved in time. Does anyone know if law enforcement acted quickly enough to secure all potential video evidence, or is there a chance we lost something crucial there? It seems such a small but vital piece that could have provided more clarity or at least closed some gaps in what we know.
I’ve been diving into the D’wan Sims case, and one thing that puzzles me is the lack of surveillance footage evidence. It’s 1994, so I know mall security systems weren’t as advanced as they are now, but the fact that there’s no footage showing D’wan entering the mall with D’Wanna is odd. Wonderland Mall was pretty busy during the holiday season, and I would’ve expected there to be something, even if blurry. This makes me wonder how much was truly captured vs. what might have been missed or even dismissed for technical reasons back then. Can anyone shed light on how these systems typically worked at the time, or was it common for footage gaps like this to happen?
I came across some interesting details regarding the Wonderland Mall the day D'wan went missing. Apparently, it was a busy shopping weekend, being so close to the holidays. This makes me wonder—why didn’t anyone else notice a little boy wandering around if he truly was at the mall? With so many people around, you’d expect at least one person to remember or catch a glimpse of him, right? The absence of witnesses who've seen D'wan that day is baffling to me. It just feels like someone had to have seen something. Maybe people on here who were familiar with the mall at the time could chime in? Did it have a layout that might make it hard to see a kid, or was it just too crowded to notice another child in the mix?
