Does anyone else find it curious how little information there is about Crystal and Misty Ortega's circle of friends? I mean, it's one thing to not have significant leads, but in the 90s, wouldn't their friends or schoolmates have had some hunches if the girls were planning to leave? Either they kept their plans incredibly secretive, or something way out of the ordinary happened that night. I keep coming back to the fact that both sisters vanished without a trace at the same time. It's hard to believe they just disappeared from the face of the earth without anyone noticing anything odd beforehand. Does anyone have thoughts on who, if anyone, the girls might have trusted enough to confide in? Could there be someone out there who knows more and has been too afraid to come forward?

Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions on the day Crystal and Misty disappeared? I came across an old news clipping that mentioned it was particularly stormy in the Mixon area on August 8, 1995. It got me thinking about how that might have impacted their ability to be seen if they were walking somewhere. Plus, bad weather could complicate the search efforts that followed. If they did initially leave of their own accord, maybe the storm made them look for shelter or pick up a ride with someone, hopefully, someone who meant no harm. There are just so many little details, and sometimes these small things can turn out to be crucial. Just throwing this out there in case it spurs any new thoughts or leads!
