Hey everyone, I was reading about Ke'Shaun Bryant Vanderhorst's case from 1995, and I can't stop thinking about the role of the authorities back then. Does anyone else find it odd how there wasn't more pressure on verifying the mother's story right off the bat? I mean, if she changed her story so many times, shouldn't that have raised a lot more red flags?
I know procedures might've been different back then, but it just seems like the confusion over DHS or the existence of this "Virginia Graham" woman should've been nailed down quicker. Anyone have insights or experiences with how missing child cases were typically handled in the '90s? Maybe there are some retired detectives or someone familiar with that era who could shed some light on why things might've taken the course they did? This case is just so puzzling.
