I can't stop thinking about the night Gordon "Butch" Swindells was killed. The fact that he was found by a neighbor adds a layer of sadness to an already tragic situation. It must have been so traumatic for that neighbor to discover him like that. I remember reading that people heard a gunshot around 1:00 a.m., but it's puzzling that more wasn't seen or heard given the time of night and how quiet it usually would be. It's hard not to wonder if anyone saw something suspicious or someone unfamiliar in the neighborhood around that hour. Butch seemed to have been a well-liked guy, especially with his involvement in the dart league and work at Big Bear. Given that his wife had filed for divorce shortly before all of this happened, it makes you wonder about possible tensions that might have been building. I truly hope this case gets the attention it deserves and someone comes forward with information that can finally lead to an arrest. It's been too long for his family to not have answers.
