I’ve been diving deep into Melissa Fadden’s case, and something I noticed is how the timeline around James Howley seems to raise more questions than it answers. It's clear Howley had a connection not only to Melissa but also to her friend Tabitha Potter, whose tragic fate we sadly know. What I find particularly intriguing is the period between Melissa's disappearance in 1997 and Howley being identified as a suspect in Tabitha’s murder two years later. Why wasn’t he on the radar sooner? I get that Melissa’s history as a runaway might have initially slowed down efforts to link her case to foul play, but could there have been overlooked clues or reports before he was identified in 1999? The gap in time is what makes me uneasy. If anyone has come across police reports or testimonies that might shed light on this timeframe, it could be worth revisiting with fresh eyes.
