I've been following the Kim Ann Gonzalez case for years and something that's always puzzled me is the lack of media attention it received back in 1997. Even considering the time period, it seems odd that more wasn't done to get her story out there. It's almost like she just vanished without a trace, and it feels like aside from the initial push from her family and the local authorities, there wasn’t much noise surrounding her disappearance. I wonder if there are community members here who remember any local news coverage or searches happening around Virginia Beach back then? Sometimes local memories from that time can spark new discussions or jog memories that might help. I keep thinking about what her life might have been like at that time and who might have known valuable information but stayed silent. If there's anyone with info from the area during the 90s or tips on where to find archives that might not be online yet, sharing those could really make a difference.
