Hey everyone, I came across this case about Demetrius Elder and something that's got me really curious is the involvement of money in these situations. Got to thinking about how often newly acquired funds seem like both a blessing and a curse. Demetrius had this $30,000 settlement from the smelter case, right? Seems like whoever threatened his brother might have viewed that as an opportunity more than just coincidence. With these big settlements, especially in cases involving environmental damage, victims like Elder often find themselves vulnerable not just financially but in their social circles too. Anyone else noticed if there’s a common thread in cases where money seems to bring about foul play? And what about that phone call to his brother? Someone out there knew how to push those fear buttons when it came to Demetrius’s disappearance. I just feel like if we could understand better how these victims are targeted, maybe there’d be more we could do to help prevent these tragedies. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Hey everyone, I was reading through some old case files and came across the disappearance of Demetrius Elder from 1997. I’m curious if anyone knows more about his friend, Demerick Walker. From what I could gather, he was the last person to see Demetrius before he vanished. Does anyone have any info on if he was thoroughly questioned by the police or if he had any motive related to the settlement money? Also, the fact that Demetrius’s pickup was found in Lancaster makes me wonder if Walker has any connections there. I’m just trying to piece things together—any thoughts? ?️♂️
