I was just reading about the Charles Ray Smith case from back in 1990 and something that really struck me is how critical the community's role can be in these investigations. It's like, after all these years, there might still be someone out there who holds a piece of the puzzle without even realizing it. Dayton had a tough year back then with so many violent crimes, and Charles's case just adds to that sadness. The fact that no arrests have been made is a painful reminder of how sometimes justice can remain out of reach for too long. I hope that by keeping his story alive, we can encourage anyone who might have been in the area or heard something back then to come forward. It's never too late to come together and help the families of victims find some peace. Keeping them in my thoughts.
