Has anyone dug into the weather records for Solana Beach and the Torrey Pines area around the time when Sean Friel disappeared? I know it was mentioned that there were several days of rain before his belongings were found, but how heavy was that rain exactly? If his shoes, socks, and especially his eyeglasses were undamaged by water, I’d be curious to see if it's possible they were placed there after the rain stopped. It seems odd that they'd be so well-preserved otherwise. Could someone local to the area back then have any insight? It might also be interesting to review satellite images, although it might be a long shot since it's been so long. Just trying to piece together as much context as possible.

Does anyone else find the choice of location for leaving his truck a bit odd? Torrey Pines State Reserve is beautiful but not necessarily the easiest place to disappear from without a trace. People have pointed out that the stuff in his truck—especially the passport and cellphone—seem to suggest he wasn’t planning on traveling far, at least not in the conventional way. What really puzzles me is the condition of his belongings, especially the eyeglasses that were left out during the rainstorms without any water damage. Could they have been placed there after the rain, maybe as a red herring, or does that add more to the theory of Sean intentionally wanting to go off-grid? Anyone local have thoughts on frequent hikers' favorite spots in that area? Maybe someone saw something unusual but didn't think about it until later. It would be great to hear from someone who knows the trails and terrains.

Has anyone else found the detail about Sean Friel’s shoes, socks, and glasses being neatly placed near that cliff a bit puzzling? With the rain they'd had around that time, you’d expect there to be some water damage, but reports say there wasn't any. It almost feels too deliberate and calculated, like someone wanted it to be noticed. Plus, the lack of water damage suggests they might've placed the items there after the rain. But who? And why? Could he have handed his cards to someone he trusted before heading out on a new journey of a different kind, or is there a more sinister angle? The whole thing has me baffled. Would love to hear any thoughts or theories!
