Has anyone else thought about the items found in Thomas McLaughlin’s car? The folded blankets, towels, and especially the significant amount of toilet paper seem oddly specific. If Thomas was indeed grappling with mental health issues, could he have been preparing for some kind of self-imposed isolation or “end times” scenario as he might have interpreted it? The blankets and towels suggest he was ready for an extended stay somewhere. The presence of the toilet paper puzzles me even more when you consider the lack of any other personal belongings. It's almost like he was trying to prepare for something that required only the basics. And then there's that lingering smoke smell that doesn’t align with any evidence of smoking being found. Could it be from a campfire or something else entirely? Just some thoughts I've been mulling over – maybe some of you have different insights into what these details might mean.
Has anyone else found it strange that there was a strong smoke smell in Thomas McLaughlin's SUV, but no signs of cigarettes or any fire-related debris? It doesn't seem to fit with his profile since he wasn't known to be a smoker. Could it be possible that the smell is a clue pointing to where he might have gone or who he might have been with? Or maybe there's some other activity that might explain it? I know it's just speculation, but it feels like it's been overlooked in discussions so far. Anyone familiar with similar cases or have insights on what might produce that kind of smell under these circumstances?
