I've been thinking a lot about the role of community involvement in unsolved cases like Martin Nooks'. It just seems so crucial that we all pay attention and speak up if we know anything. Cases like his really underscore the importance of programs that keep the public engaged, like the public database the BCI manages. I can't imagine the pain his family has endured for over 20 years without any answers. It must be so hard to have those hopes reignited every time a case gets new attention, only to end up back where they started. As a community, I feel it's on us to support these efforts, share the information, and encourage anyone who may know more to come forward. It's easy to think our voices don't matter, but something as small as a shared post or conversation might crack this case wide open. I really hope that, someday soon, there'll finally be some justice for Martin and peace for his family.
