I always found it intriguing how much attention was focused on the boat and the unknown man when discussing Patricia Blough, Ann Miller, and Renee Bruhl’s disappearance. However, I think another angle worth exploring is their connection to the horse racing community. Patricia's reported issues with people in a horse syndicate could have been more significant than initially thought. Could these connections have led them into something they couldn’t untangle themselves from? The horse racing world isn't free from its share of unsavory characters, and it's not too far-fetched to consider that perhaps the trouble Patricia was experiencing might have followed them to the beach that day. I wonder if there’s more to uncover in that direction.

Did anyone else come across reports or rumors about a potentially shady horse syndicate connection in Patricia Blough’s disappearance? I find it interesting that she had mentioned having problems with some horse racing people, and it seems like a detail that shouldn’t be overlooked. Could it be possible that this syndicate, if it had dubious dealings, had something to do with the women going missing? The fact that they boarded a boat with an unidentified man is odd enough, but if there were links with individuals involved in criminal activities, that might give a motive. Considering the unconfirmed sightings of the women on a larger boat, maybe someone in the syndicate wanted them to 'disappear' due to some bad business? I know it’s all speculation, but sometimes it feels like this angle isn’t discussed as much. Thoughts?

I was reading about the disappearance of Patricia Blough, Ann Miller, and Renee Bruhl from Indiana Dunes State Park, and something caught my attention. Has anyone else noticed that weird gap between when the girls went missing and when they were reported? They disappeared on July 2, 1966, but the search didn't start until July 5. I know it's common for searches to begin a little later, but that's a solid three days. Even accounting for families thinking they might have just stayed out late or were with friends, you'd expect a quicker reaction for three women suddenly vanishing with their stuff left behind on the beach. Does anyone have information on why the reports took so long to file? Could this delay have been a factor in crucial early clues being missed?
