I've been fascinated by the Indiana Dunes case for a while now, and one aspect that piques my curiosity is the mysterious boat and its owner. How is it that no trace of the boat or its operator was ever found? It's like they vanished into thin air. I've read that the boat was described as being small and white, but wouldn't there have been sightings or similar descriptions by other beachgoers or within nearby marinas? I wonder if the man with the boat had any known connections to the beach or if maybe he was someone just passing through. Sometimes I think there must be someone out there holding on to a piece of the puzzle, perhaps someone who didn’t realize the relevance of what they saw or heard back then. It makes me question how thorough the investigation was of local boat owners at the time. Could there have been a wider cover-up involving illegal activities? The more I read about it, the more questions I have. What do you all think?

Just came across some information about the disappearance of Ann, Patricia, and Renee from Indiana Dunes back in '66. Has anyone looked deeper into that white boat? I've been reading a bit, and it seems odd that no one could ever identify the man piloting it or track down the boat itself. Were there not many boats on Lake Michigan back in the day, or was it just too easy to stay under the radar back then? The description of the small white boat feels crucial, yet it seems like such a dead end. Anyone got theories on what happened with that? I've read plenty of speculation but would love to hear from anyone who might have more insights or local historical knowledge about boating on Lake Michigan.
