Hey everyone, I'm really puzzled by an aspect of Pamela Hobley and Patricia Spencer's case. Does anyone have any insight as to why they took the ride from the motorist back in 1969? I know it was a different time, and hitchhiking was more common, but it's still curious. Their decision to get into a stranger's car when they were supposedly heading downtown seems odd. Were they trying to get somewhere specific faster, or was it just the way things were done back then? I wonder if the driver was someone known in the town or just a complete stranger. If anyone knows more about hitchhiking norms in that area or has heard anything else about the motorist, please share! Maybe there's something there that’s been overlooked!
