Hi everyone. I wanted to discuss a theory that has been on my mind regarding the disappearance of George O. Bombardier back in '71. I’ve been reading up on accounts from that time, and something interesting popped out. The area where George went missing—the Mountain Road, Hayes Brook, and Grass Pond—is really challenging terrain, especially with a snowstorm. Would it be possible that he could’ve slipped into one of the many small caves or crevices in the area? In such dense, snowy wilderness, visibility and footing can be treacherous.
I wonder if during the search, these kinds of spots were thoroughly checked. Considering the time and weather conditions, a fall into a hidden location might explain the lack of any solid traces. Do any locals know if there were efforts taken to search underground or hidden shelters in the subsequent years after his disappearance? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
