Has anyone else looked into the possibility of there being other missing persons cases linked to abandoned coal mines in Kentucky, like Carl Hollan's? It's intriguing (and unsettling) to think about how these mines might have been used to hide secrets. The fact that skeletal remains were found but not conclusively identified seems puzzling. You'd think advances in forensic technology over the years could have provided some answers by now. Has anyone come across similar cases where coal mines were involved, or any theories as to why identification in Carl's case was so tricky? Would love to hear thoughts or any new info folks here might have dug up!
Hey everyone, I've been doing some digging into the Carl Hollan case. It’s crazy how a person can just vanish into thin air. What caught my interest recently is these skeletal remains found in 1983 near that old coal mine. I mean, you’d think they would've done more to identify those remains by now, especially with all the advances in forensic science.
Does anyone know if they ever tried to extract and test any DNA from the remains? It's baffling because you'd assume there'd be some movement on that front, or maybe I've missed updates? It feels like there’s still a lot of details missing from this case, especially with how long it's been cold. I wonder if there’s any connection to other disappearances around that time in Kentucky, or if it's just a tragic isolated incident. Any thoughts or leads?
I’ve been digging into cold cases recently, and Carl Hollan's story really caught my attention. One thing that’s intriguing is the discovery of skeletal remains in the nearby abandoned coal mine back in 1983. Does anyone else wonder why there wasn’t a definitive ID made at the time? I know technology wasn't what it is today, but it seems like such a significant lead. Have there been any updates on whether they've revisited those remains with modern technology like DNA testing? It's been so long, and I can't help but think there's got to be more to uncover with today's advancements. Any thoughts or insights from folks familiar with similar cases?
