Hey everyone,
I've been following the Donald Ray Shaw case for quite some time, and something that's been bugging me is the disappearance of his car. Shouldn't a black 1973 Chevrolet Caprice be relatively easy to track down, especially with a specific license plate like N41307? Missouri isn't exactly a tiny place, but surely there aren't that many vehicles matching that description floating around unnoticed.
It's strange that neither the car nor any of its parts have been discovered over all these years. Did it end up in a chop shop, or is it possible that it was hidden somewhere far off the beaten path, only to be discovered by accident one day? Or maybe someone has been holding onto it in a concealed storage, knowing its significance?
I'm curious if anyone local remembers seeing a vehicle like that around Kansas City back in '78 or in the years that followed. Maybe it's just a long shot, but sometimes it's the smallest details that can break a case wide open.
If anyone has more information or thoughts on where the car might have gone, I'd love to discuss. Sometimes solving smaller mysteries can lead to bigger answers. Thanks!
I've been doing some reading on the Donald Ray Shaw case, and I noticed something peculiar about where he disappeared. His route from the National Account Systems to the 1100 block of Grand Avenue seems pretty straightforward, but it's interesting that he vanished so close to his workplace. Given his role as music director at the Westside Baptist Church, I wonder if anyone from his church community back then might have seen anything suspicious that evening or noticed anything strange about his demeanor in the days leading up to his disappearance. Churches have tight-knit communities; surely, someone might have some insights or recall something to help piece this puzzle together. It's strange how someone can just vanish in the middle of a bustling city with seemingly no witnesses. Anyone else here familiar with the area or local history who might have some thoughts?
