I've been reading up on Robert Curtis Coe's case, and something that puzzles me is why his exact route from Monroe Street after leaving his duplex is still such a mystery. Back then, the Bouldin Creek neighborhood was a pretty tight-knit community. You'd think someone might have noticed a young man in a distinct plaid flannel shirt walking around. With so much foot traffic today, I imagine it was similar in 1978, so how does someone just disappear without a trace in such a populated area? I'm also curious if any extensive searches were ever done around his usual routes to campus or places he frequented. It feels like there might be more about his movements that haven't been fully explored or shared publicly. Any thoughts on why this might be or if there's been anything new uncovered on those details?

Does anyone know if there were any leads regarding Robert Coe's friends or acquaintances? Since he was a student at the University of Texas, I wonder if any classmates or people from the campus might have noticed something unusual on or around March 12, 1978. It's strange that no definitive leads have been uncovered for such a long time. I'm curious if there was ever a search party organized by his peers or if there were any posters around campus back then. His description seemed pretty distinctive with the flannel shirt and brown suede jacket. Maybe someone on campus caught a glimpse of something that day? It's baffling how a person can just vanish, especially from a place like Austin that always seemed bustling.

I’ve always been intrigued by the psychology behind missing person cases, especially when individuals struggle with mental health issues. When Robert Curtis Coe disappeared back in '78, there's this underlying question of whether his mental health might have influenced his disappearance. From what I understand, he had a history of depression, which could have led to various scenarios. It's also concerning how cases like his seem to go cold so quickly despite the obvious concerns. There's the idea that perhaps he just wanted to get away, or maybe his vulnerabilities made him an easier target? Either way, it's so frustrating not knowing if enough was done in those initial days. Would love to hear thoughts from others on the mental health aspect in such cases.
