Hey everyone, I'm diving into the Mary "Bobo" Shinn case and trying to wrap my head around something. She went missing while showing a house to an unknown guy in 1978, and it's baffling how quickly things can go wrong. Does anyone here know what safety protocols were typical for realtors back then? Did agencies have any procedures in place, or were real estate agents more or less on their own when meeting potential clients? It’s just crazy to think how vulnerable that must have felt, especially in those days. Any insights or thoughts would be appreciated!

Hey all, I’ve been digging into the Mary “Bobo” Shinn case from ‘78, and something that strikes me is the lack of information on the unidentified male subject she was supposed to meet. Does anyone know if there were any composite sketches or descriptions that were released to the public back then? I’m wondering if there might have been missed opportunities for witnesses to come forward. It feels like identifying this person could be crucial, especially since real estate agents often kept logs or appointment books—even back in the late 70s. Does anyone have any more info or resources on how the investigation tried to track him down?

I’ve been diving into Mary "Bobo" Shinn's case, and something about her last known showing bugs me. Was there any record of Mary discussing safety concerns or protocols at her agency? Real estate can be unpredictable, and back in 1978, I imagine it was even more so. Did her agency have policies in place for handling unknown clients? The fact that she went alone is unsettling. Would love to hear if anyone has insights or knows more about the practices in real estate offices during that time. Just trying to piece together if this was an isolated incident or if there were wider safety issues in the profession back then. Thoughts?
