Wow, I can't get over the twists in Scott Michael Morris's case. The fact that he managed to call his family friend in 1989, over a decade after his initial disappearance, is wild. Imagine the relief and confusion his family must have felt hearing from him after so long, but then having that hope dashed when no more information followed. It makes me wonder how many people he might have interacted with under the radar all those years. Being with a carnival means constant moving and a transient lifestyle, which would make it so difficult to track him down. Are there any carnival workers from that era who might have crossed paths with him and could share any stories or details? It's a long shot, but maybe someone remembers him or heard something. If only there were more threads to pull on in this case. ?
Does anyone else think there's something off about the timing of Scott’s phone calls? It seems so strange to me. He disappears in '78, then out of the blue, he calls in '89? And both times, it's just brief contacts without really disclosing where he was. I've seen discussions suggesting he really might have been with a carnival, but part of me wonders if he was trying to send a hidden message or if someone was stopping him from saying more. Maybe he felt he was being watched? It's also so weird that there were no calls for over a decade until '89, and then nothing again. I hope the family gets some clarity someday.
