It's baffling how Thomas Carey's case has left us with so many questions and so few answers. I was reading up about his disappearance, and one thing that really struck me was the lack of available forensic evidence at the time. It’s incredible how different things might be today with the advancements in technology and DNA analysis. Back in 1983, not having his dental or fingerprint records must have been a massive hurdle. I wonder if there are any unclaimed persons in the system today that might match his description. It's cases like these that remind us just how important it is to preserve and update records—we never know when they might be crucial in solving a mystery. If anyone has thoughts on how current technology could be used retroactively in his case, I’d be interested to hear.
