I'm really puzzled by the timeline here—something just doesn't add up. Keith Reinhard disappears almost a year to the day after Tom Young, from the exact same store location? What are the odds of that happening just by chance? Plus, both of them leaving under mysterious circumstances, only for Keith to be writing about Tom's disappearance before he vanished himself... it's all very eerie.
I know people have brought up theories of Keith maybe getting too involved in the story he was writing, but there's got to be more to it, right? Could there have been something about that specific shop that drew them both in? Or maybe the areas around Pendleton Mountain hold more secrets than we know. With so few people living in Silver Plume, you’d think this would be easier to wrap our heads around, but it seems like the more you dig, the more questions arise.
Something that's always intrigued me about the Silver Plume case is its connection to the literary world. Keith Reinhard was actually working on a novel inspired by Tom Young's life and disappearance, and it makes you wonder if there is some deep, unexplainable link there. I've read that sometimes writers get so engrossed in their stories that it’s like stepping into another reality. Tiffany Reinhard, Keith’s daughter, mentioned that it seemed hard for her father to distinguish between reality and fiction at times. It makes me shiver to think about it—was Keith perhaps too absorbed in his book, blending his own life with the character he was writing? Did he stage his disappearance to experience the same mystery he was trying to unravel on paper? It's all so eerie, especially considering he vanished just as mysteriously as Tom. Thoughts?
