It's clear these statements made a significant difference, but I can't help but imagine the heartache they brought to his family and friends, knowing he had to speak those words when his life was hanging by a thread. It's a haunting reminder of how sudden and tragic violence can be. My thoughts go out to everyone who loved Jesse and had to endure this painful process.
