Has anyone else been thinking about the unusual phone calls Jody made before she went missing? The fact that she called her cousin saying she was lost suggests she really had no idea where she was, but the message left on the friend's answering machine adds another layer to this mystery. If that message was made under duress, what was happening at the time? It's as if someone was trying to throw everyone off by making it seem like she reached her destination in Pontiac. I keep thinking about how phone tracing and technology weren't as advanced back in 1994, making it much harder to pinpoint where those calls originated. Could this indicate that someone was possibly controlling the situation, orchestrating that call to mislead? Jody driving alone to visit family seems so innocent—was she really targeted because of the earlier activity with marijuana, or did she encounter the wrong person at the wrong time? This unresolved case has so many twisted layers.
