Hey all, I've been reading up on the disappearance of Mayor Roberts from Hayden, CO, and something's been bothering me about the whole situation with his truck. It's been mentioned it was found pretty well hidden on private land in Utah, and it seems strange to me how it got there. Given that it was spotted so far from any main roads, I'm wondering if someone with local knowledge could have been involved in moving or hiding it. This area isn’t exactly easy to navigate, especially in winter. The fact that it was near where his ex-wife and kids lived makes me think maybe he was trying to reach them or vice versa. There were no signs of foul play in the truck, but does anyone think the location itself could mean something more? Could it be a coincidence, or does it hint at something personal? Would love to hear other people's thoughts on this aspect. It's been almost three decades, and no one seems to have a clear idea of what happened.
Did anyone else find it odd that the truck was found relatively close to where his ex-wife and kids lived? It just seems like too much of a coincidence. If Roberts had any intention of visiting them, wouldn't someone there have noticed or mentioned it? Or maybe he did visit, but it wasn't planned or communicated properly because he might've been under stress or something. I've read theories about people returning to familiar places during times of crisis, and while it explains why his vehicle was found there, it doesn't really help us understand what might have happened after. It's just baffling. Anyone have any thoughts or similar cases where someone has left their car near family unexpectedly?
