It's so deeply unsettling to see how the violence in Columbus was affecting people back in 2010, especially in cases like Larry G. Hyde Jr.'s. From everything I've read, Larry seemed to have a genuinely kind heart, dedicating his life to training service dogs and helping the visually impaired. It's hard to comprehend why someone who did so much good could become a victim of such senseless violence.
I feel for his family, especially his son Donovan, who had to grow up without his father. It's frustrating that there seems to be so little information about what happened or who could have been responsible. I hope someone who knows something will finally speak up. Columbus deserves safer streets, and Larry's family deserves answers and peace. Anyone with a heart would hope for the same.
I recently came across Larry Hyde Jr.'s case from back in 2010 and it got me thinking about how valuable community involvement is in solving cases like these. It's frustrating to see that after all these years, his family is still waiting for answers. I'm aware that the Columbus PD keeps records of unsolved homicides, but it's really up to us as a community to stay vigilant and speak up if we know anything.
Larry seemed to really focus on helping others—training dogs for the blind is no small feat! It's just so disheartening to see someone who contributed so much have their life cut short. I hope people continue to come forward with any information they might have. It doesn’t have to be a huge lead; sometimes the smallest piece can make a big difference. Let's not let this case be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to Larry's son, Donovan, and the rest of his family. They deserve closure.
