Thinking about Desiree Davis today. It's so hard to believe that someone like her, who went through so much and still managed to stay positive and hopeful, could be taken from her family and friends in such a senseless way. My heart goes out to everyone who knew her and is still living with this loss. I've been reflecting on how impactful that memorial service must have been, especially with her father playing a jazz tribute to honor her. It’s striking how music can become a way to remember and celebrate a person’s essence even amidst such pain. I keep wondering if there’s more the community can do to keep her memory alive and push for justice. It's not just about finding answers, but also about continuing to tell her story and ensuring she’s remembered for the wonderful qualities she had. Anyone else have ideas on what more can be done? Maybe some community art projects or initiatives that align with her passions? Anything to help keep the pressure on this case and ensure she's never forgotten.
