Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Juan Guerra's case—one of those haunting stories from 2009 that still lingers in my mind. Living in Oakland, I've seen how much the community struggled back then and even now. What breaks my heart is thinking about how Juan’s life was so abruptly and unfairly taken away, and the profound impact it must have had on his family and friends. It’s maddening knowing that there may have been people who saw or heard something that night but are too afraid to speak up. I understand the fear of retaliation is real, especially back in 2009 when gang activity was rampant and people felt trapped in silence. But every bit of information could help bring closure to Juan’s family. They deserve justice, and Juan deserves to be more than just another statistic. I've been wondering if there’s more we, as a community, can do to encourage people to safely share what they know. Do you think there are ways we can foster a sense of safety for witnesses to come forward, even now? Let's keep talking about this—there has to be something we can do to help. enviar❤️
