Has anyone looked into whether James might have taken a side route or an unexpected detour? Given his resourcefulness and the meticulous way he apparently planned to visit his mother's grave, it seems odd that his trail would go cold so quickly. I wonder if there were any convenience stores or small diners along his expected route from Williston to Hubbard County where someone might have seen him or that deerskin vest. That's pretty distinctive. Maybe a local remembers seeing him but didn't realize he was missing? Sometimes small towns have those low-traffic places where things can slide by unnoticed.

Hey everyone, I came across the case of James Kahlstorf while reading about missing persons, and I noticed something intriguing about his situation. Does anyone else find it curious that he was so set on visiting his mother’s grave right before he disappeared? It makes me wonder if something happened on the way there or at the graveyard itself. We know he had challenges with literacy, so could that have affected his ability to get help if he got lost or needed assistance? Considering his unique appearance and the fact that he had a distinct wardrobe, it's surprising there weren't more sightings reported around the time he went missing. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I was digging through some old articles about James Kahlstorf's disappearance and couldn't help but notice the detail about his visit to his mother's grave. It's haunting to think that he wanted to pay respects and then vanished. If he only expressed this to his family, how many people actually knew about his travel plans? That deerskin vest he wore would have been memorable—I'm surprised no witnesses came forward saying they saw someone matching his description. Does anyone know if the area where his mother's grave is located was thoroughly searched? Also, how did his difficulties with reading and writing factor into the investigation? It seems like a crucial obstacle for someone investigating their own whereabouts. Just wondering if anyone has any insights or thoughts on this.
