Just wanted to share something that's been on my mind about the tragic loss of Wilson Villeda. I keep thinking about how young he was—only 17. We hear a lot about gang violence, but it's different when you realize the ages of those affected, both victims and often perpetrators. It's like these kids are lost too soon to a lifestyle they might not fully understand the consequences of. It’s reassuring to see so many involved in the investigation and the fact that justice has been served in some form with the arrests and convictions. But it can't bring Wilson back. His potential, his dreams, everything was snuffed out by a terrible act of violence that didn’t need to happen. I feel for his family and friends who have to live with this pain. It's crucial for communities to come together and address these issues. Intervention programs for at-risk youth, community support, and awareness can hopefully prevent more tragedies like this from happening. My thoughts are with Wilson's family, and I hope they find some peace knowing so many people want to see a world where this kind of violence doesn't take more promising lives.
