Hey everyone, I recently started looking into the case of the Skelton brothers—Alexander, Andrew, and Tanner—and something curious came to mind about the legal system’s role in all of it. It's baffling how John Skelton was only convicted for unlawful imprisonment and nothing more substantial, given the total lack of explanation for where these boys could be. There seems to be a strong focus on his implausible story about the group, yet no concrete charges seem to explore the worst-case scenario more deeply. Are there others here who are familiar with Michigan law and could shed some light on why they went that route legally? Did this approach somehow limit the investigation’s potential scope, or was it a strategic move to ensure at least some sort of a conviction? Would love to hear your thoughts on this aspect!
I've been thinking a lot about the Skelton boys' case lately and how it seems like such a puzzle with so many missing pieces. One thing that always gets me is the father's story about handing them over to some mysterious group. How does anyone believe they could get away with something like that without leaving any trace? It just doesn't add up to me. I mean, if it were true, wouldn't there at least be someone out there who remembers seeing them, or has info on this so-called group?
I wonder if there's someone out there—someone who might not even realize what they know is important—who could help solve this case. It seems like such a small needle in a very large haystack, but stranger things have happened, right? Maybe someday someone will remember seeing something odd back then and finally come forward. Here's hoping those age-progression photos strike a chord with someone, someday. It's frustrating to think a community and three young lives have so little closure after all this time. If anyone has any thoughts or new info, even the tiniest bit, sharing could really help bring resolution to this mystery.
