I’ve always found the case of Gerald Montrio and Robert Rasmussen so intriguing, especially the detail about the boat sightings near Plymouth Harbor. If eyewitnesses indeed saw two boys getting in and out of a boat, could this imply an attempted escape? It makes me wonder, could someone have offered to help them leave town, or was it just an innocent mistake in identity? Boats coming and going seem like they would have been common enough in that area, but it's definitely easy to imagine how a young mind might see this as a way out if they planned to run. Also, considering Gerald’s bilingual abilities and maturity, it's possible they could have had a plan more elaborate than anyone anticipated. Does anyone know if there were boat owners or harbor workers questioned back then who might have confirmed or debunked the idea of the boys simply vanishing with a little help? Even after all these years, there just seem to be so many layers to this case!
