Does anyone else find it suspicious that the police initially assumed Christene left voluntarily? ? Her purse, clothes, and car were all at home, so it seems odd to me that they didn't treat it as a possible crime scene from the get-go. Given that this was 1972, maybe procedures weren't as strict as they are now, but it feels like a missed opportunity for gathering crucial evidence. It's concerning that no physical evidence was preserved, potentially leaving a gap that might have provided answers. I can't help but wonder if a different approach could have changed the outcome. Anyone have insights on how investigations have evolved since then or similar cases that eventually found closure after a poor initial response?
