Does anyone else find it strange how Pete's boat was found near Catalina Island, but he vanished while lobster fishing off San Clemente Island? The locations are a bit far apart, especially considering how strong ocean currents are in that area. I wonder if there was a mechanical issue or if something happened that forced him to drift off course. Has anyone researched ocean currents around that time or had personal experiences boating in those waters during the 1970s? It might give some insight into where he could have ended up. Just a thought that’s been nagging at me while digging through this case...
