Anyone else find it odd that Richard Plechner's disappearance hasn't had more media coverage over the years? It's been almost five decades, and there's barely anything out there about his case. I've tried digging through old newspaper archives and found little to nothing. For a case listed as "endangered missing," you'd think there'd be more public interest or efforts to keep his story alive. Makes me wonder if there were factors at play back in 1975 that led to his disappearance flying under the radar. Maybe someone out there remembers something but just doesn't realize that piece of info could be crucial. If you were in Huntington Beach around that time, even if it's just a small detail, it could be worth sharing with investigators.
Does anyone else find it odd that there are virtually zero details about how Richard Plechner disappeared? Like, I’ve been following his case for a while, and I just can’t wrap my head around the lack of anything—they don’t even mention a last known location beyond just "Huntington Beach." I mean, did he leave his home, was he out at a bar, or just walking along the beach? It's so frustrating! You’d think after all these years, *something* would have come up, right? Wondering if maybe there are old friends or acquaintances who might know something that never got reported back in the day. It’s been way too many years with so little to go on. Would love to hear if anyone's dug deeper into the archives or has any theories.
I find it incredibly puzzling how Richard Plechner's case remains unsolved after all these years. I've always been intrigued by the missing persons cases from the '70s, especially since so many seem to go cold. With Plechner, there doesn't seem to be much out there in terms of investigation details. It's almost as if he vanished into thin air without leaving a clue behind.
Maybe someone who lived in Huntington Beach around that time might remember something? The fact that no substantial progress has been made all these decades later is frustrating. I wonder if there are any family or friends still pushing for answers?
Has anyone come across articles or old news reports about Richard? I feel like there might be some previously unnoticed connection or detail that could shed light on his whereabouts. If there are any other databases or sources where his name might pop up, it'd be worth checking. It's evident that hope still exists for those who cared about him. It's just so unsettling how someone can just disappear and leave no trace.
