I’ve been thinking a lot about the unsolved case of William Mack Robertson and his co-worker David Lyman, and I can’t help but feel for their families after all these years. With the anniversary having just passed, it must bring up so much pain and unanswered questions for them. For Robertson, it was his very first night at Mike’s Discount Beverage—a small step in a new chapter—and for his life to be taken so suddenly just seems unfathomable.
One thing that struck me about this case is the possibility of the perpetrator being someone local. It makes you wonder if any regular customers or people from the neighborhood around that store at the time recall seeing anything or anyone suspicious around that period. Any small detail could be crucial.
The reward that is offered might just incentivize the right person to come forward with information they might’ve been too scared to share back then. My hope is that after so many years, someone will find the courage to step up. If anyone is reading this and remembers anything, even if it seems insignificant, please reach out to the authorities. The families deserve closure and justice for their loved ones.
Has anyone else looked into the background of Mike’s Discount Beverage itself? I find it rather odd that there seems to be very little information about this store aside from the tragic events of May 21, 1983. It makes me wonder about the security measures that were—or weren’t—in place that night. Was the parking lot well-lit? Were there any cameras, or did they have a habit of keeping a lot of cash on hand? I really feel for the families of William Robertson and David Lyman. No one should have to suffer through not only losing a loved one but also enduring the torment of not knowing why or how this happened. Sometimes, looking into these smaller details can reveal more than we initially think. If anyone has more context about businesses in that area during the early '80s, it might be worth discussing.
Hi everyone,
I've been following the William Mack Robertson case and wanted to bring up something that might have gone unnoticed. I've been thinking a lot about the timing of the robbery. This was William's first night on the job—a detail that just doesn't sit right with me. Was it purely coincidental, or could it have been a factor in why the store was targeted?
It's so unsettling to think that someone could be watching and waiting for an opportunity like that. My heart goes out to William's family and David Lyman's as well. To have your loved one taken so senselessly is beyond words. The community deserves resolution, and I truly hope that anyone who knows something finds it in their heart to come forward.
Does anyone else think the timing is worth looking into further? It seems like something that could potentially unlock more clues. Any insights or thoughts?
