I’ve been looking into the disappearance of Donald Cary Ewalt from 1979 and noticed something interesting about the case. It seems that despite being last seen in California, the Texas Department of Public Safety got involved at some point. I’m curious if anyone knows why they might have taken an interest and whether there’s a connection to Texas that wasn’t widely reported? Perhaps it was related to leads they followed initially or other similar cases in the area? Would love to hear if anyone has more information or theories on why this might be, especially since it sounds like they didn’t have a lot to go on. It just seems odd considering he vanished from California—makes you wonder if there was something they couldn’t make public at the time.

Has anyone else been intrigued by the fact that Donald Cary Ewalt's case got assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety? It's interesting because he vanished from California, so I wonder what kind of leads connected his disappearance to Texas. I can't help but think that there might be more to this story than we've been told. Has anyone heard of other cases where a different state's authorities got involved like this? Seems like there might be some bigger pieces of the puzzle we're missing. Would be curious to hear thoughts if anyone has come across similar situations in other missing persons cases!
