I've been researching the case of Keli Kay McGinness, and one thing that really piques my interest is her connection to the Green River Killer. Many of his victims were young women involved in prostitution, and Keli certainly fits this tragic pattern. What stands out to me, though, is the fact that Gary Ridgway himself confessed to killing her, yet we've never found her remains. How reliable do you all think Ridgway's statements are regarding the locations of his victims? Given the sheer number of women involved and the vast area he covered, I wonder if there's any chance he might have misremembered, or worse, deliberately misled investigators. It's frustrating knowing her family never got to lay her to rest properly. Anyone else have thoughts on how authorities might approach searching these areas again, or if new technology could make a difference now?

Hey everyone, I've been reading more into the disappearance of Keli Kay McGinness, and something that's been on my mind is the role her living situation might have played in the lack of immediate attention her case received. It seems like, unfortunately, her being involved in prostitution and living on the streets since she was so young led to her case not being taken as seriously right off the bat, especially when her own pimp was the one who reported her missing. It's frustrating how society often devalues the lives of individuals involved in high-risk lifestyles, like Keli's, despite them being just as deserving of safety and justice. With her daughter placed in foster care, it's so sad to think of a little girl who may never truly know her mother, both as a result of her disappearance and society's initial indifference. Would love to hear your thoughts on how bias towards individuals living on the margins impacts missing person investigations. Do you think this has changed at all since the 1980s? Let's keep the conversation going and keep Keli's case alive. Stay safe out there, everyone.

Has anyone else looked into the possibility that Keli may have had plans to meet someone specific that night she disappeared, aside from working? I’ve been combing through some local news archives and noticed there was a rise in missing person cases that summer near Pacific Highway South. I wonder if someone else might have been preying on vulnerable women, or if she was supposed to meet with someone she trusted. It seems odd that she vanished so completely, even with the suspicion surrounding the Green River Killer. Anyone have thoughts on whether her lifestyle might have made her a target for someone other than Ridgway? It's just so unsettling to think there might be more to her disappearance than what's been widely believed.
