Does anyone else find it strange that Dallas Basham's personal belongings were left behind? Especially knowing he had that important meeting the next day? To me, it seems like he didn't plan on disappearing or going far that night. It's eerie how someone was just wiped away and enough evidence gathered for convictions, yet the body is still missing after all these years. The fact that Bellas tried to help find the remains and still nothing turned up is unsettling. Does anyone think there's more to how or where Basham was disposed of than what's been revealed? Maybe there's another location, or someone else knows more?
Has anyone else looked into that Burks Road area near Clear Lake? I find it so curious that even with Bellas's cooperation, they couldn't locate Dallas Basham's remains. It's strange considering he supposedly knew where the grave was. Wasn't there a lot of construction or land development there over the years? I wonder if the landscape changes might have played a role in why the body's never been found. Or maybe he got the exact location wrong, or intentionally misled them for some reason. Such a baffling part of this case that keeps it feeling incomplete, even with the convictions. Would love to hear thoughts or if anyone has access to more details about the site's history or searches.
Hey everyone,
I was digging through some old newspaper archives and stumbled upon an interesting detail about the Dallas Basham case that I haven't seen widely discussed in our threads. It caught my attention that Dallas didn't take his wallet or even any spare clothes when he vanished. It's such an odd move, especially just getting out of jail. Makes you wonder what was going through his mind that evening—or if he even planned to stay gone that long in the first place. Could it mean he left in a hurry? Or maybe he thought he'd be back soon?
If anyone has more insights or theories about why he might have left these things behind, I'd love to hear them. It raises so many questions about what he might have anticipated or whether he was caught off guard by something...
Looking forward to your thoughts!
