Hey everyone, I came across Melvin Snyder’s case from back in 1985, and something that caught my attention is the weather on the night he vanished. From what I gathered, there was quite a bit of rainfall around Greencastle during that time. Has anyone looked into how this could have affected any potential searches or evidence left behind? During heavy rain, it seems like tracks or scents that search dogs could follow might be harder to detect. Did the authorities mention anything about this in their reports, or has anyone from the area noticed anything unusual with the weather back then that could have hampered efforts to find him? Just seems like such an odd coincidence.

What puzzles me most about Melvin Snyder's case is the fact that he vanished without taking any of his personal belongings with him. Usually, people at least grab a wallet or some form of ID, especially if they're planning on going somewhere far. It just makes me think he wasn't planning on being gone for long, or maybe he was meeting someone he trusted. Does anyone know if there were any significant withdrawals from his bank account around the time he went missing? Sometimes financial transactions can give a clue about someone's intentions or movements. Just a thought! Anyone else find this strange?
