I've been following Amber Tuccaro's case for a while, and one detail that really stands out to me is how the RCMP handled the initial investigation. It just feels like they dropped the ball in so many ways. Removing her from the missing persons list because they thought she might be partying? That's beyond discouraging. I can only imagine how her family felt, knowing their pleas weren't taken as seriously as they should've been. It must've been devastating to endure two long years of uncertainty, only for the family to have their worst fears confirmed when Amber's remains were found. The systemic issues around how cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women are handled need more attention, and I hope justice comes for Amber and her loved ones soon.
