I'm really struck by the witness accounts of Donna Jean Awcock appearing nervous at the variety store that night. It just breaks my heart thinking about how she might have sensed something was wrong—it's chilling to realize that those were possibly some of her final interactions. The store clerk’s decision to deny her the phone could have stemmed from store policy, but it’s hard not to wonder if things might have gone differently had she been allowed to make that call. It's a small thing, but sometimes those seemingly minor moments can weigh heavily in such tragic cases. I'm really hoping that with advancements in forensic science, someone somewhere might find a breakthrough. My heart goes out to her family, especially her sister, who I’ve read has been so dedicated to keeping Donna’s story alive. With the reward still standing, maybe someone out there has just the piece of info that could finally bring her family some peace.
